No. Just no. This quote is completely stupid in every single way. If there are SEVERAL reasons why something won’t work and ONE reason why it might work, that means it is most likely not going to fucking work! Don’t believe me? Take this philosophy and apply it to anything practical in life.

If you decide you want to get a running start off your roof and fly to the mall, and you forget all the reasons why it won’t work (i.e humans are incapable of flying on their own, it is scientifically impossible to take flight, you would need much more speed to go ANY distance than a running start) and focus on the one reason why it might (i.e a tornado happens to be near and the wind carries you) ….you will end up paralyzed or dead.

Using this philosophy in a relationship is the leading cause of the horrendous “relationships” you see playing out in sad lyrics statuses on Facebook. For instance, Jill is dating John.

Reasons why Jill & Johns relationship WON’T work:

1. John is a scumbag

2. John is serving a prison sentence

3. John cares about drugs and alcohol more than he cares about Jill

4. John has no ambition to turn his life around

Reason why Jill & John’s relationship WILL work:

1. Jill is happy when she talks to John

That one reason does not fucking matter in the grand scheme of things. You need to look at the big picture in a relationship. There are many, many factors that go into having a good relationship. So girls who live by this quote, you might want to focus on those other reasons or you will end up being miserable. And if you want to apply this quote to relationships then fine, whatever, i can’t change your mind…but for gods sake at least let me give you a ride to the mall.
