Unattractive Sluts & The City
The E! Channel has been running old episodes of Sex and the City lately and since it came out when I was a bit too young to watch, I’ve been watching them now. While the show is cute and sometimes funny, I think it promotes…how do I say this….being an easy whore. Those who know me knoiw that I am not very conservative and I’m not easily offended by things that some might find innappropriate, but it kind of grosses me out the way this show glamorizes fucking anything that moves.
These women are not even that attractive with the exception of Kristen Davis who plays Charlotte, and she is the most reserved character! How are these women being constantly asked out on dates by attractive men? It is just unrealistic. On one episode, ginger slut Miranda reveals that her “number” of guys she has slept with is in the 40’s! (Keep in mind, I believe this was an epsiode from the 1st season) AND she finds out she contracted chlamydia. Instead of showing her being mortified about getting an STD, they show a funny montage of her calling 40 men she’s slept with to tell them they might have it too. “LOL I have chlamydia! Did you give it to me? You did? HAHAHA you jerk! Ok well I have to go, a man just walked by and I need to bone him.”
I know, this is JUST a television show, but knowing how incredibly dumb most women are, they probably watch it and aspire to be just like the characters on the show. I’m no shrew but a show about womens legs being open more often than a Jersey diner is not empowering in my opinion. But hey at least now sluts have a show they can relate to. LOL JK that’s every reality show.
